Welcome to Inkwell Farm
We're a farm offering pick-your-own (PYO) certified organic blueberries midsummer. We sell flowers fresh, foraged, and from market in the summer and at holidays.
We're located in Epping in the heart of the Seacoast region of New Hampshire.
Update, July 8, 2017: Friends and loyal customers:
We’re making the difficult decision not to open our PYO this year. There’s simply not enough fruit to pick.
Our bushes began this year stressed from last year’s drought, and we knew that this year’s crop was going to be a smaller one than usual. The heavy rains of May allowed a fungal condition called mummy berry to spread in our field. We’ve always had a bit of mummy berry in years past, but it never seriously affected our yield. This year, it hit hard. We now have stands of bushes with no berries at all, and other bushes with very few berries that will turn into edible fruit.
We’re not making this decision lightly. This would have been our 12th season running the PYO, and we know—because many of you have told us—how much you enjoy coming here to pick blueberries. But we don’t want to you to show up to pick fruit that isn’t there. We’ve already been in touch with UNH Extension, and they’ve given us some new ideas for organic practices for battling mummy berry. We’re hoping that next year we’ll have the kind of berry-laden bushes we’ve all seen here in the past.
Thank you for your patronage and kind words in previous years. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Support (other) local farms, and have a wonderful summer.
